01BIOGRAPHY

Life in context.

84. Elizabeth S. Noyes Babcock (1792–1866)
Elizabeth married Asa Babcock and appears in the Wicks family genealogy as mother in the line leading to Mary Lynde Babcock and Frederick Stanton Wicks. Her ancestry links Madison’s later Syracuse family back into the Noyes colonial network. As with many women of her era, surviving public biography is limited, so the emphasis is on the relationship she carries rather than invented achievements.
Evidence status. Direct working relationship from family genealogy.

Final audit and unresolved leads
This edition contains 84 profiles assembled in 14 six-person batches. The research deliberately includes women whose historical importance lies in migration, family continuity, property, cultural preservation, performance, or connecting documented branches—not only people who held public office.
Important items still not promoted beyond their evidence
No military rank is assigned to Norman J. Mehr, Michael Henry Hequet, Stanton Doane Wicks, Bartlett Wicks, John Doane Wicks, Henry L. Stevens or Tino Ceberano unless the cited source actually supplies that rank. Service or duty can be established without inventing rank.
Dr. James Dill Macky remains a probable ancestor until George Duncan MacKy is tied to him by a parent-naming primary record.
The early Hecquet pedigree before the civil-registration era remains a working archival reconstruction; original parish/notarial images should continue to be gathered generation by generation.
Kaye Joyce and Cherie Joyce are now independently corroborated as sisters, but Doug Joyce’s parents and Kathleen’s maiden identity remain unresolved.
The modern CPN line Delilah → Eugene Chester Nourie → Lorraine → Sandi is directly documented; older Bourassa generations still deserve original-record reconciliation, especially the interpretation of Ellen Bourassa CP-885 in the roll display.
The supported Mayflower routes remain project-audited working descents; formal lineage-society certification is optional and separate.
New research leads generated while building v2.0
Recover and archive a genuine image file of the Wellcome Collection engraving of Dr. Philippe Hecquet for a future illustrated edition; the present edition uses the verified Hecquet family chart rather than copying an unarchived web image.
Locate the military service files of the three Wicks brothers, Henry L. Stevens, Norman J. Mehr, Michael Henry Hequet and Charles Hequet to add exact rank, unit and duties where available.
Use Cherie Joyce Ceberano’s public record and the newly corroborated Kaye–Cherie sister relationship as a fresh triangulation route to identify Doug Joyce and Kathleen’s maiden family.
Locate original Irish records for George Duncan MacKy to prove or disprove the Dr. James Dill Macky parent link.
Continue collecting authenticated portraits and photographs. A real painting is acceptable; a generated or anonymous face is never acceptable.
